Obituaries & Condolences

Edward Arnold Thomsen, 75 yrs. old of South New Berlin, NY passed away on November 22, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.

Ed was born on March 10, 1945 in Norwich, NY the son of Arnold and Virginia Daniels Thomsen.  He was a graduate of South New Berlin Central School.

On June 28, 1964 in the South New Berlin First Baptist Church he married Esther Kay Brooks.

He was a self-employed electrician.  Ed was a long term member of the South New Berlin First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and many years as trustee.  He was a loving family man and enjoyed his Harley motorcycle rides.  He was always helping friends and family.  He enjoyed his John Deere tractors and teaching his grandchildren many skills.

Ed is survived by his wife and soulmate of 56 years, Esther Kay Thomsen.  He is also survived by his children; Lorena (Jeff) Robertson of Earlville, Eva (Jeff Johnson) Thomsen of Austin, TX and Natalie (John) Law of South New Berlin, NY.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Alec (Nicole) Wilson, Myriah (Brennan Ryan) Wilson, Wade Law, Jonah Robertson and Ben Johnson, and one great grandchild, Liam Edward Wilson.  Also surviving is his brother, Philip (Karen) Thomsen and sister, Anne (Don) Manley as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the South New Berlin First Baptist Church, South New Berlin, NY with pastors, Robert Decker & Kurt Funke officiating.  Proper social distancing practices will be in place.  Masks are required.  Seating will be limited.
