Obituaries & Condolences

Eileen M. Figger, 73, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

Eileen was born to Nelson and Lois Joy on May 28, 1947 in New Berlin, New York. Eileen grew up and lived in Chenango County area in New Berlin, NY. She was a graduate of New Berlin High School Class of 1966. She graduated from Binghamton School of Nursing in 1967 with an LPN certification. She later worked at the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Dr. Hood’s Office, G.M.U. Central School and New Berlin Central School. She touched many lives in these school districts. She was an athletics score keeper for Unadilla Valley for 20 plus years. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, 4 legged kids, community children and all the kids blessed with her company throughout the years. Eileen loved Syracuse Basketball but most of all her children and grandchildren sporting events. She was wonderful lady who loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Gary; her son, Michael (Cindy) Figger of Port Charlotte, her daughter, Kimberly Figger of Durham, NC, her son, Christopher (Michelle) Figger of New Berlin, NY and her son, Robert (Cheryl Perkins) Figger of Liverpool, NY; her sister, Ruth Smith of Whitney Point, NY; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she loved with all of her heart.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date by the family.
