I did not know Ed well, but I will not forget his amazing spirit and smile. Ed lived near my work at NYCM and I would stop to say hi as I came in and out of work. Ed had everyone smiling and laughing all the time. He was a nice man and very determined to have joy. I am sorry to hear of his passing. My sympathy to the family.

I have only known Edwin since August 2021.  I met Ed for the first time at a gathering of folks one evening outside the senior living center in Sherburne. Ed was first to introduce himself to me and from that point I knew I had a new friend. He knew the Sherburne/New Berlin area of where my dad and relative were from.
August of 2022, Edwin and I went to the Northeast Classic Car Museum, and the Chenango County, and Cooperstown Farmers Museum.  Ed was such a joy to be around at each of these places. He knew so many people where ever we went and always introduced me to those he met.  The picture shows Edwin on the merry go round at the Farmers Museum.  I made prints of this picture and sent in the mail for him to show people since he was so proud of being like a kid once again.  I will always treasure the many conversations we had, and the many rides in the countryside with him showing areas where my past relatives lived.
There so many other things with my short friendship with Ed that I could say, but there is not enough space here to tell.  In closing I would like to have everyone know, Ed is most certainly in Heaven with our Lord and savior.  I being a Christian, asked Edwin, are you saved and a believer in Jesus.  He said most certainly.  He shared how he use to often go to church with my aunt Olive Utter.
Edwin, we all miss you dearly and looking forward in seeing you in Heaven.
