Wanda Kuhn

January 7, 1943 — September 21, 2025

New Berlin

Wanda Wells Kuhn, born January 7, 1943, passed away on September 21, 2025, after living a life filled with love, giving, and strength.

Wanda worked her entire career with NBT Bank, and shared that commitment with all who knew her. She frequently provided education and helped many with bank reconciliations and navigating the world of finance. This dedication to others was also demonstrated by her extensive volunteer work with the New Berlin Fire Department, Chenango County Fire Police, Chenango County Auxiliary, Norwich Theater Company, and Northeast Classic Car Museum, among others.

Wanda always showed a strength and positive attitude through all of the joys and challenges of life. Wanda never lost her will to help others, her intense love for her family, and her can-do attitude. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, singing karaoke, playing bingo and scratch-off tickets, and attending community events. When she was no longer able to spend time in the community, she dyed her hair rainbow colors in defiance of the disease that had taken much from her.

Wanda passed on her love and spirit to her family. Carrying forward her energy are her three children: Marleta “Marty” Kuhn (Scott Douglas), Kelly Wakelee (Kent), and Michael Kuhn (Penny) as well as her grandchildren: Alcenia Munio, Samantha Reedinger (Howard), Adam Munio, Nicole Wakelee, and Oliver Kuhn (Harley Madden). She is also survived by her sister, Kay Wells Zaia, her brother, Wilmer Wells, Jr, and several nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee A. Kuhn, her daughter, Sandra Lynn Kuhn, and her parents, Wilmer and Olive Wells.

At her request, no funeral services will be held for Wanda. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held for her on January 10, 2026. Further details will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Berlin Fire Department or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
