Shirley Van Duser

Shirley E. Van Duser of Edmeston, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on July 2, 2015.

She was born on January 8, 1928 in Rochester, NY, the only child of Walter J. and Eleanor L. Shipton. a graduate of Monroe High School in Rochester, NY, she attended the Eastman School of Music on a full scholarship and graduated with honors.

She attended Roanoke College and then Paul Smith College from which she graduated in 1947.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Gerald R. Van Duser. Together they had 4 children: Guy Van Duser of Hull, MA.; Claudia Keene of Edmeston. NY; Douglas Van Duser (deceased) and Victoria McGrath of Maple Shade, NJ. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be private.  Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home, LP, New Berlin, NY.
