June Tinker

June (Bork) Tinker, long time resident of New Berlin, New York and most recently of Greenville, North Carolina departed this Earth on July 31, 2022, in Greenville, North Carolina.

June was born on August 8, 1924. She met and married the love of her life, John Tinker, on September 6, 1947. Together they created a beautiful life and a loving family with four children. June was a devoted wife and mother. After their children entered school, June worked at the Orange Savings Bank in Wycoff, New Jersey until her retirement. Upon retirement June and John retired to New Berlin where June continued to work as a teller in town. A parishioner of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in New Berlin, June also devoted herself to writing letters and cards to the elderly and shut-in members of the parish. John and June enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and canoeing.

June is survived by her sister, Dorothy Schram of New Hartford, New York and her sister-in-law Isabel Rahn of Whitesboro, New York. She will be remembered as a source of unconditional love and support by her children June (Henry) Green, Barbara Levenson, Susan (Robert) Houde, and Jack (Gwena) Tinker. Her humor and grace will be remembered by her grandchildren David (Amity) Green, Julie Mitchell, Matthew Levenson, James Houde, Elizabeth Houde, Kara Tinker, John Tinker, and Cameron Tinker. Her kind and generous heart will be remembered by her great grandchildren Justin Green, Addison Bennett, Leo Green, Reagan Green, Hayden Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell, Lily Mitchell, countless nieces, and nephews, and by all who knew and loved her.

June was preceded in death by her husband John Tinker, her parents LeRoy and Dorothy (Booth) Bork, her brothers Raymond Bork and LeRoy Bork, Jr., and her son-in-law Michael Levenson.

The family is grateful for the loving and compassionate care provided by Community Home Care and Hospice of Greenville, especially Natashu Turnage and to Silver Care, especially Shela Corbett.

Burial is at 2pm in Fairview cemetery Saturday the 6th.  . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice of Greenville, 1003 Red Banks Road, Suite B, Greenville NC 27858.
