Duane Roger Simmons 75 yrs. old of West Edmeston, NY passed away on March 21, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital, Utica, NY.

Duane was born on April 20, 1941 in New Berlin, NY the son of Renwick & Doris (Nash) Simmons.

He was a graduate of Leonardsville Central School and served in the United States Air Force from October 17, 1960 – November 20, 1964.

Duane is survived by his son; Duane Simmons, Jr. and his family.  He is also survived by his brothers; Richard & Mary, John & Janet, Bruce & Judy, Roy & Sharon, Gary & Betty, James & Peggy, Neil & Marie and David & Tina, his sisters; Betty Harrington, Mary Dye, Jean & William Cornell, Sharon & Daniel Mayton and Lynette & James Wilcox as well as several nieces & nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents and one brother; Robert Simmons.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home LP with Father Lester Smith officiating.  Calling hours will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.

The interment will be held in the Gazlay Cemetery, South Edmeston, NY.
