Robert Clapp, a dedicated and hard-working man whose smile and humor brightened the lives of those around him, passed away on April 19, 2026. Born on July 26, 1940 to Erwin and Ruth Clapp, Robert's early years were spent on his family's farm in Columbus, NY, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.
Robert devoted 42 years of his professional life to Rea-D-Pack Foods Inc., where he served as plant manager. His commitment and leadership were evident, and he was respected by colleagues as a reliable and diligent leader. Beyond the workplace, Robert was known for his joking spirit and ever-present smile, qualities that made him a beloved friend and family member.
An avid enthusiast of cars and car shows, Robert took great pride in his 1956 pickup truck, a treasured possession that reflected his passion and nostalgia. He also found joy in mowing, a simple activity that gave him a sense of peace and fulfillment.
Family was at the heart of Robert’s life. Though she sadly preceded him, his wife Doris Clapp was a source of love and partnership throughout his life. He was a devoted father to his son Robert (Kimberly) Clapp and to his adopted daughter, Barb Clapp. Robert is survived by his siblings: Peggy Warren, Nancy McDuff, and Donald Clapp.
Robert's legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and unwavering love. He will be remembered as an amazing husband and father, a spirited jokester, and a tireless worker whose presence touched the lives of many. His memory endures in the hearts of his surviving family and all who had the privilege to know him.
