Frederick M Ross

d. September 23, 2025

Edmeston

Fred was born on May 17, 1941, and as a young man proudly served in the United States Navy. He dedicated six years of his life to his country. His patriotism, strength, and loving spirit were a hallmark of the man that he was.

During his time in the Navy, he married his wife of 65 years, Peggy. Together they built a legacy of love, family, and faith that will live on forever.

After his time in the Navy, Fred was employed as an electrical technician at IBM and Lockheen Martin while operating a beef farm in Dorance, PA. Eventually, he moved his family to Edmeston, NY and became a prominent dairy farmer earning an award for the Otsego County Conservation Farmer of the Year, November 1985.

Fred is survived by his siblings: Antoinette, Janice, Ricky, and Karen, all residents of Pennsylvania. He is predeceased by his father Anthony Sr., his mother Margaret, his brother Anthony Jr., also of Pennsylvania, and his daughter-in-law Debbie Ross of Edmeston, NY.

Fred was the father of five children: Fred Jr. (Janelle), Mark (Russell), Tony (Sherry), Tim (Melanie), and Becky. He was also a proud grandfather and great grandfather to children whom he loved with all his heart.

Fred will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his generosity of spirit, and the quiet strength with which he faced life’s challenges. A life well-lived and a man deeply loved, Fred’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will endure in the stories, traditions, and love his family carries on.

A private Catholic Mass will be held by the family. They truly thank everyone for all of their prayers and support during this time.
