San Antonio, Texas- Florence (Flossie) Barber Aldrich was born at Chase Hospital in New Berlin to William L. Barber and Alice Daniels Barber in 1943. She died September 15, 2025, is San Antonio, Texas. She was the youngest of four children. All of her siblings, Albert Barber, Dora Carr and Howard Barber, predeceased her.
She married Wayne Aldrich and they had two children, Kenneth Aldrich and Shannon Haher. Kenneth and Flossie's daughter-in-law Villa, lives in San Antonio, Texas. Sharon and Flossie's son-in-law, Donald, live in Albany, NY. Flossie's grandson, Darryl, lives with his family in North Carolina. Her granddaughter, Hannah, lives with her family in San Antonio, Texas.
During high school Flossie worked at a dress factory in Oneonta, then at A.O. Fox Hospital in the admitting office and at Agway Petroleum in New Berlin. She retired as a bookkeeper for Kraft Foods in South Edmeston.
After retirement she helped take care of both her mother and mother-in-law until their deaths. Then she travelled to all the United Stated on this continent. She spent twenty winters in Arizona, where she enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Flossie belonged to Triple "O" Travelers, a National Camping Travelers chapter of campers. She and her friends worked hard to have successful rallies over the years.
Flossie is survived by her husband Wayne, children Ken and Sharon, grandchildren Hannah and Daryl, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marian Barber, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Flossie was a kind, courteous and helpful person. She is greatly missed.
