Jacob Patrick Emhof, 74 yrs. old of Plymouth, NY passed away on September 15, 2016 at Chase Nursing Home, New Berlin, NY.
Jacob was born on December 11, 1941 in South Edmeston, NY the son of Jacob C. & Mary (McNamara) Emhof.
His childhood was spent in the Edmeston and South Edmeston areas and he graduated from the Edmeston Central School. He was employed by Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, Federal Express Trucking, Sherburne Earlville School as a bus driver and also worked as a truck salesman and was self-employed during several periods of his life that included, owning and operating the Eagle Inn in New Berlin, NY and more recently, Boatwear LLC in Plymouth, NY.
Jacob had a large blended family and loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially at Christmas time, birthday celebrations, and went to all of their sporting events. Cooking was a passion with his specialty being prime rib that he would serve custom-made to the entire family. He also loved fishing and most importantly, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
On September 20, 2007 he married Shirley Wright Emhof, who survives him. He is also survived by his children; Robin & Mark Robbins, Rhonda & Dennis Foulds and Rodney Emhof as well as 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister; Wilma Smith of Bainbridge, NY, step daughters; Cindy & Randy Manwarren & Becky Wheeler and step sons; Joe & Theresa Cook and Mike & Chris Cook as well as an uncle, many nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Columbus Community Church in Columbus, NY with calling hours from 11:00 AM â 1:00 PM also at the church prior to the service.
The interment will be held in the Edmeston Union Cemetery at a later date.
