Dale A. Lund, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at home with his loving family on November 16, 2024. Born on June 25, 1951, in the Town of Pittsfield, he brought joy into the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough know him.
Dale was a man of many talents, a true jack of all trades, and possessed a quick wit that endeared him to those around him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. His proudest accomplishments came from being his kids' and grandkids' biggest sports fan, passionately cheering them on at every game and event.
He adored spending his time engaged in his numerous hobbies, including reading, solving puzzles, and playing horseshoes, golf, cornhole, and bowling. Each of these activities served as a means for Dale to connect with family and friends, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories.
Dale is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy R. Schoonover, and his sons Ryan (Beth) Lund, Randy (Jaclyn) Lund, and Kyle (Marabeth) Lund. He will be greatly missed by his treasured grandchildren: Kailey, Derek, Dyllan Ann, Logan, Haylie, Taryn, Collin, and Alyssa, who each carry a piece of his joyful spirit within them. Dale also leaves behind siblings Kenneth (Gwendolyn), Robert (Helen), Lorraine, Roger (Jennifer), and Velma (Thomas), who will remember him fondly and with love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Elsie (Chase) Lund, and his brother-in-law, Jack Rifanburg. They welcome his return with open arms, ready to share in the warmth and kindness that Dale so generously shared during his life.
A memorial service honoring Dale’s life will be held on November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in West Edmeston, NY, immediately followed by a celebration of life. All who knew him are invited to come, celebrate his life, and share their memories of this remarkable man who touched so many hearts.
Dale A. Lund leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will forever resonate within all who had the privilege of knowing him.
