Betty Miller

December 19, 1923 — July 7, 2025

Betty Miller, a long time resident of New Berlin, NY, passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 101. Born on December 19, 1923, in England, Betty lived a life full of joy, laughter, and resilience.

Betty’s early years saw her serving her country during WWII as a member of the British Air Force, specifically the Royal Women's Auxiliary Air Force. Enlisting just before her seventeenth birthday, she dedicated her efforts to processing new recruits and was stationed in Manchester, England, where her sense of duty and commitment to her country shone brightly.

Betty was not only a veteran but also a remarkable matriarch who took immense pride in raising her family. She managed a household of seven children with remarkable resourcefulness, and her vibrant personality left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Known for her incredible sense of humor, she was a bubbly presence at any gathering, always bringing joy and light-heartedness to those around her. Her social nature and love for engaging with others were complemented by her passions for bowling, pingpong, badminton, and cards, which fostered connections within her community.

Betty leaves behind her loving children, Barbara (Warren) Johnsen, Linda (John) Hoxie, Judy (Jeff) Conklin, James Miller, and Thomas Miller. She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Elaine Curran of Australia also survives her.

Betty is reunited in spirit with her late husband, Ballard Miller, as well as her children, Jean Tyler and John Miller, and granddaughter, Dana Eaves.

There will be a private burial held at the family's convenience. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date to be determined.

Betty's family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the unmistakable love and wonderful care given to Betty by the staff at the New York State Veterans Home over the past five years.

Betty Miller's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. Her ability to live life to the fullest serves as an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed, yet her vibrant spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
