William D. Emhof, 88 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away on May 18, 2020 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home, New Berlin.

Bill was born on November 9, 1931 in Columbus, NY the son of Adolf & Veronica (Derochie) Emhof.  His childhood was spent in the New Berlin area.  He was a graduate of New Berlin Central School, served in the US Air Force from 1952-1956 and attended SUNY Delhi for 2 years.

On September 29, 1961 he married Shirley VanWarner Emhof in the United Methodist Church of New Berlin. 

He was employed by BF Goodrich of Norwich and worked in maintenance part-time for NBT bank for 26 years.

Bill loved to build and was a very good carpenter who could fix anything.  He loved roller skating at the local rinks, skating at Interskate 88 in Oneonta every Saturday for 30 plus years.  He was considered one of the best skaters and was just one of the kids. Everyone loved him.  He was still skating at 85 years old.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of New Berlin and his daughter Jolene Emhof of Hamilton, NY.  He was predeceased by his son James Emhof.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Edmeston Union Cemetery, Edmeston, NY with lay minister Penny Harrington officiating.
