Obituaries & Condolences

Mark Vernon Woodard, 66, died August 19, 2018 at his New Berlin home.

Mark was born in New Berlin in 1951 to Elizabeth and Archie Woodard.  He graduated from New Berlin Central School.  Mark worked at the New Berlin Shoe Factory until it closed.  Being a motorcycle enthusiast, Mark opened a motorcycle shop and later, an ATV repair business.  He was a mechanic at heart and could fix just about anything.

Mark also had a passion for music.  He was an accomplished guitarist and played in a number of bands over the years.

Mark is survived by his brother Lynn and his wife Eleanor, sister Ann and her husband Charlie, nephews Andrew and Jeremy, great nephew Weston and great niece Sienna.

There will be no services.

Mark always appreciated his many friends but the support they provided in the past few years was especially important to him.  His family wants to express their sincere thanks for all his friends have done.

I meet Mark in my teens, through mutual friends on his street. He was a kind soul and a sweet smile. We circled each over the years, at times on my walks, and Several times in places he played in our area. During his musical breaks, he would always sit down across from me and hold my hands and chat. His groupie was not pleased, oh well.  I later meet his mom when she had medical issues. I thought he got his sense of humor from her. He was a good man and enjoyed the simple things in life. I miss his kind and caring friendship.
My condolences to his family, God keep you

Heartfelt condolences to Ann, Charlie, Lynn, family & friends. Everyone is deeply saddened by Mark's passing. A fond memory was sometimes after school Bob (Robert) Everts & I would go to Mark's house. Mark greeted us at the door, guitar in hand, anxious to share a new chord, or out to the garage while he tinkered with his motorcycle. His megawatt smile could light up a room, that's how I'll remember him. May your memories comfort you, praying for peace & strength for all, during this difficult time.
