Clyde Eugene Barker 79 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away on May 26, 2016 in Hamilton, NY.

Clyde was born on October 22, 1936 in Columbus, NY the son of Harold Fuller Barker & Josephine Bell (Winton) Barker.

His childhood was spent in New Berlin, NY where he attended New Berlin Central School.

On July 21, 1961 he married Betty J. Frink Barker who survives him.

In the 1950’s Clyde worked for Mohawk Tools, Drop Forge and Norwich Radiator Repair Shop.  In the 1960’s he was employed by the Chenango County Highway Department, GLA, Simmonds Precision, Hercules IBFG and Unison as a welder/brazier.  He retired in 1999.  He was also a member of IBEW 2053 serving as shop steward & Vice President.  In the 1990’s he raised heifers and beef cattle.  He had a passion for raising and showing Paso Fino Horses and was a member of the Northeastern Paso Fino Association.

In his spare time, Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, country music and family gatherings as well as his special pets, Craig, Rusty & Buster.

In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by his daughters; Sandy & Wayne Stone,  Denise & David Ross and Debra & Jeff Post and his sons; Clark Barker and Robert A. & Louise Fitch, 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as sisters; Betty Jo & Roger Belush and Phyllis George, sister-in-law; Betty Irene Barker and several nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by one son; Clyde Jean Barker on 11/25/1962 as well as brothers; Stanley & Stuart Barker and sister; Hilda Barker.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Columbus Community Church with Reverend Stephen Reese officiating.  Calling hours will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the memorial service at the church. 

The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin, NY

Memorial donations may be made to Operation Hope c/o the Columbus Community Church.
