Mary Sarah Martin,
88 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY
passed away on October 7, 2014 at her home with her family and dog Maggie next to her.

Mary was born on June 1, 1926 in Puckerville, NY the daughter of Ross and Anna (Smith) Shapley.  Her childhood was spent in the Bainbridge and Union Valley area where she graduated from Bainbridge Central School.  On October 5, 1945 she married Robert E. Martin who predeceased her on August 15, 1978.

Mary is survived by her children; Lee (Linda) Martin of New Berlin, NY, Bonnie (Don) Galarneau of Verona, NY, Barbara (Bill) Murphy of South New Berlin, NY and Beverly (Rick) Smith of New Berlin, NY.  She is also survived by one brother; Victor Shapley of Chesaning, MI as well as 12 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren and numerous special “adopted” family members.

She was predeceased by one son-in-law; Donald Galarneau in 2014.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, South New Berlin, NY with Preacher Bob Decker officiating.  Calling hours will be held from 11:00-1:00 PM prior to the funeral service also at the First Baptist Church.

The interment will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, NY on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Barry Davis.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, South New Berlin, NY or the charity of one’s choice.

To the Martin family I am so sorry for your loss , as you already know your Mom was a wonderful women who I had the pleasure of spending quite alot of time with , even if we drove her crazy Bev she still welcomed us with a big smile and warm heart .
