Warren E. Belden , 78 yrs old
of the Town of Columbus, NY
Passed away on September 19, 2013 at his home.

Warren was born on January 17, 1935 in West Edmeston, NY the son of Warren H. & Alexa T. Belden.  His childhood was spent in West Edmeston and he was a graduate of Edmeston Central School.  On August 13, 1955 he married Arlyn J. Belden who survives him.

During his early years, Warren worked as a farmer and was also employed at the Bridgewater Milk Plant.  In later years he worked as a self-employed electrician and plumber until his retirement.

Warren was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Edmeston where he served as a trustee.  He was also a member of the West Edmeston Volunteer Fire Company with more than 50 years of dedicated service including many years served as the Fire Chief.  He lived to serve the fire company and was sad when he was unable to continue.

He is survived by his children; Brian W. & Gretchen Belden, Bret J. & Brenda Ann Belden and Darren V. & Brenda Lee Belden all of West Edmeston, NY as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law; Sandra & George Price, sister-in-law Elsie Belden and many other loving sisters & brothers-in-law.

He was predeceased by his brother; Carl Belden and sister; Mildred Estes.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of West Edmeston, NY with Pastor Donald Buck officiating. 

Calling hours will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2013 also at the First Baptist Church.  The Otsego County Firemans Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM prior to the calling hours.

The interment will be in the West Edmeston Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the West Edmeston Fire Company, the First Baptist Church of West Edmeston and the Hospice & Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer and Eastern Madison Co., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY  13413.
